Ugo Rondinone - Rockefeller Plaza - NYC

Art, like any other form of art reflects and communicates in different ways, the feeling of the artist at its maximum elevation.
Walking in front of the Rockefeller Plaza a beautiful spring afternoon, I found the exhibition "Human Nature" property of the artist Ugo Rondinone. What a talent! Nine majestic public works of human-shaped stone figures displayed the expression of the sculptor from an archaic perspective (being stone figures) combining perfectly art, structures and nature.  It seems to me that the artist creates basic shapes from stone of a culture that has endured since earliest civilizations. To this genius, stone represents the essential and the primitive.
A very special spring since not only sprouted all kinds of flowers but it gave life (in front of my disbelieving eyes) to the name of an artist who has imbued each figure with a distinctive personality and someone who knew how to express himself through the stone, the vast and inexhaustible source of inspiration. Like a forest of giants, their huge legs form gateways through which the visitors may pass, sensing the tactile surfaces of these contemporary forms.
"I like art that projects the idea of an indefinite time, language and image in a still space. There is no real identity, history or meaning, only that I build for myself." Ugo Rondinone
